How many Black Ice skins are there?
There’s no single fixed number, and anyone quoting one is oversimplifying. Black Ice splits into two eras:
The original Black Ice line. Since February 2016, Ubisoft has added Black Ice to dozens of weapons across many seasons. The roster includes guns like the MP5, R4-C, Vector, MP7, MPX, P90, AR33, F2, BOSG.12.2 and SMG-12, plus operator-locked weapons such as Jäger’s 416-C, Buck’s C8-SFW and Lesion’s T-5 SMG. The pool grew season by season, so the total has climbed steadily over the game’s decade.
The new Year 11 color variants. In Year 11 Season 1 (Operation Silent Hunt, March 2026), Ubisoft did something they’d never done before they added four colored versions of Black Ice: Green, Red, Purple, and Pink. These launched across 14 weapons with 4 colors each, for 56 new collectible skins, and Ubisoft confirmed the pool would keep growing through Year 11. They’re weapon-specific too, not universal.

The new Black Ice color variants (Year 11)
The Y11S1 color variants shook up Siege’s most prestigious cosmetic for the first time in a decade. Instead of the classic black-and-white, you can now chase Green, Red, Purple, and Pink versions each on its own rarity tier inside the new Black Ice Packs.
These packs are exclusive to the Year 11 Season 1 Premium Battle Pass. You unlock the first at an early tier and the second deep into the pass, so reaching both takes the premium track plus a season of grinding. Each pack pulls one skin from the pool, and the color you get follows set drop rates.

The 14 eligible weapons in Y11S1: 417, AUG A3, M12, BOSG.12.2, CAMRS, AR-15.50, ACS12, M249, SIX12, DP27, SMG-12, SMG-11, D-50, and C75 Auto. Pull a duplicate from a pack and it converts to 15,000 Renown automatically. Pink is the standout at roughly 0.71% per specific weapon, it’s set up to become the new prestige marker, the way the original Black Ice was for years.
These variants aren’t tradable while they’re current-season content. Once Year 11 moves on, expect them to filter onto the marketplace, with Pink likely commanding the steepest prices. Until trading reopens, treat any quoted value as speculation.

The routes themselves
The marketplace (when it’s online). The most direct route to a specific Black Ice on a specific gun is buying it on the R6 Marketplace. Alpha Packs. The original lottery route. Alpha Packs can drop Black Ice at a low rate, with no way to target a specific weapon you get whatever the RNG gives you. Plenty of players have opened hundreds without the one they wanted, which is exactly why the marketplace was such a big deal when it launched.
Black Ice Packs (Year 11 Battle Pass). The new color variants come only from Black Ice Packs in the Y11S1 Premium Battle Pass. You can’t buy these on the marketplace yet, since they’re current-season content. Duplicate pulls convert to 15,000 Renown.

For the look and the flex, yes on a gun you actually use. Buying a Black Ice for your main weapon gets you the most-recognised skin in the game on something you’ll see every match. That’s the real value for most players.
As an investment, treat it with caution. Black Ice holds value well thanks to its reputation, but prices still move. A weapon nerf, an operator rework, or a flood of new supply can soften the floor. There’s no cash-out either you can only ever spend the Credits back inside the game.
