R6 Marketplace Requirements & Access (Login, 2FA, Platforms)
Three things gate the R6 Marketplace: you need clearance level 25, two-factor authentication (2FA) switched on, and no active sanctions on your account. Miss any one and the marketplace won’t open usually with no clear error telling you why. The requirements checklist
Before anything else, run through these. All three have to be true at the same time:
- Clearance level 25 or higher on your Ubisoft account
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on the account
- No active sanctions no bans or suspensions, in-game or account-level
- A Ubisoft account with cross-progression set up (so your inventory is unified)
- R6 Credits in your wallet if you plan to buy (you don’t need any to sell)
If the marketplace tells you that you can’t trade, the cause is almost always one of the first three. The interface doesn’t spell out which one, so check each in order. Let’s take them one at a time.
Requirement 1: Clearance level 25
Clearance level is your account’s overall progression rank, separate from your competitive rank. The marketplace requires level 25 before it opens. For an active player that’s a few days of matches; for a brand-new free-to-play account picked up after the Siege X relaunch, it’s the first real gate you’ll hit.
You earn clearance XP from playing matches in any mode Ranked, Standard, Quick Match, even against AI. There’s no shortcut and no way to buy your way past it. If you’re sitting at level 24 and the marketplace won’t open, you’re one or two matches short. Play, level up, and try again.
One detail that trips people up: if you just crossed level 25, you might still see the “can’t trade” message until your account re-verifies eligibility. Requirement 2: Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Ubisoft requires 2FA on any account that touches the marketplace. This protects the items and Credits you’re trading an account with real value attached is a bigger target for hijackers, and 2FA blocks the most common takeover methods.
How to turn on 2FA
- Go to your Ubisoft account settings on the Ubisoft website (account.ubisoft.com) and sign in.
- Open the Security section.
- Choose your 2FA method an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar) or email/SMS depending on what Ubisoft offers in your region.
- Follow the setup prompts and confirm with the code sent or generated.
- Save your backup codes somewhere safe in case you lose access to your authenticator.
Once 2FA is active, give the system a few minutes to register the change before reopening the marketplace. An authenticator app is the sturdier choice over email or SMS, since it doesn’t depend on your inbox or phone signal being reachable. Requirement 3: No active sanctions
A ban or suspension in-game or at the account level blocks marketplace access entirely. This covers temporary match bans, longer suspensions, and any Ubisoft account sanction. The marketplace stays locked for the full duration of the sanction.
There’s no appeal shortcut inside the marketplace itself. If you’re sanctioned, you wait it out or take it up through Ubisoft Support. Once the sanction lifts, access returns automatically play a match to re-sync, and you’re back in.
Worth knowing: the December 2025 exploit was an exception to Ubisoft’s usual approach. After the breach dumped duplicated Credits and skins into accounts, Ubisoft rolled the damage back but issued no bans to affected players, since the exploit wasn’t their doing. That’s not the norm genuine rule-breaking still costs you marketplace access.
How to log in to the R6 Marketplace
Logging in uses your Ubisoft account the same credentials you use for Ubisoft Connect and the game itself. There’s no separate marketplace account to create.
- Go to the official marketplace through the in-game tab (PC) or the web portal in a browser (any platform).
- Sign in with your Ubisoft account email and password.
- Complete the 2FA check with your authenticator code or the code sent to you.
- The marketplace loads your cross-platform inventory and the order book.
If login fails, the usual culprits are a wrong password, a 2FA code that expired (they refresh every 30 seconds on most authenticators), or an account that hasn’t met the level 25 requirement yet. Where to access it: PC vs console
Access differs by platform, and the console situation is the question people search most. The short version: PC gets in-client and web access; every console uses the web portal only.

The inventory is shared across all of them. Cross-progression ties your items to your Ubisoft account, not your device, so a skin earned on PlayStation shows up when you log into the web portal from a PC browser or your phone. You trade from one unified pool no matter where you play.
Accessing on PC
Launch Rainbow Six Siege through Ubisoft Connect and open the marketplace tab in the main menu. That’s the fastest route on PC. You can also open the web portal in any browser and sign in handy if you want to manage listings without launching the game.
Accessing on PlayStation and Xbox
There’s no marketplace tab inside the game on console. Open a web browser on the console itself, your phone, or a computer go to the official marketplace web portal, and sign in with your Ubisoft account. Everything works the same as PC from there: same order book, same inventory, same prices. The browser experience is a touch slower and filtering is clunkier, but nothing is restricted by platform.
Is there an R6 Marketplace app?
No. There’s no dedicated R6 Marketplace mobile app. Anyone offering one is almost certainly running a scam or a credential-phishing operation treat any “R6 Marketplace app” in an app store or linked from a random site as suspect.
What you can do is open the official web portal in your phone’s browser and sign in with your Ubisoft account. That gives you mobile access to buy, sell, and manage listings without needing an app at all. It’s the legitimate way to trade on the go. Stick to the official web portal and you’re safe; download a third-party “app” and you’re handing your login to a stranger.

What you can do once you're in
With all three requirements met and a successful login, the marketplace opens up fully. You can:

Remember the boundaries that apply to every account regardless of access: sellers are paid in R6 Credits only with no cash-out, not every item is tradable, current-season items stay locked until the next season, and bought items carry a ~15-day hold before you can relist them.
