How to find and buy Black Ice step by step
- Open the marketplace: PC players can access it through the Siege client or the Ubisoft Connect web portal. Console players (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) need to use the web portal in a browser there’s no in-game marketplace tab on console.
- Search “Black Ice” in the marketplace search bar: All tradable variants will appear as separate listings. They won’t be grouped together each weapon-specific version is its own item in the order book.
- Click the variant you want and check the order book: You’ll see active sell orders from lowest to highest price, and active buy orders below those. The spread between the lowest ask and the highest bid tells you how liquid this particular variant is. Wide spread = fewer active traders; narrow spread = more activity.
- Decide: match the floor or set a lower bid: To buy immediately, match the lowest sell order. The system fills the cheapest matching sell order first, so paying that floor price gets you the skin without waiting. To pay less, place a buy order at a lower price and wait for a seller to meet it. This works best on variants with consistent supply and multiple active sell orders, where sellers sometimes drop their ask to move inventory faster.
- Confirm the buy order: R6 Credits are deducted from your Ubisoft wallet immediately for an instant match, or held pending for an open buy order. You need Credits, not Renown the marketplace doesn’t accept Renown.
- Wait for your inventory to sync: After the transaction completes, the skin won’t appear instantly. On PC, restarting the client or playing a match usually triggers the inventory update. On console, load into Siege on your platform to sync.
Buying Black Ice without getting scammed
Black Ice is exactly the kind of skin that attracts off-platform scammers. If someone on Discord, Reddit, or a third-party site offers to sell you a Black Ice skin outside the marketplace for real money, for your account credentials, or through a “middleman” don’t do it. These are almost universally scams. You’ll lose your Credits, your money, or potentially your Ubisoft account.
The legitimate route is the official Ubisoft marketplace only. If you’re being asked to go off-platform, that’s the scam, not a better deal.

Note On Current Outage
The marketplace has been offline since 27 December 2025, when a backend exploit duplicated approximately 2 billion R6 Credits. Ubisoft took it down to protect the economy, rolled back affected transactions, and has tied the return to Year 11 and Operation Twin Shells no firm date confirmed yet.
